The common reserve
One pool of assets. An equal claim for each outstanding token.
The reserve is the asset pool backing FOLD. A token claim depends on the assets actually held and the effective outstanding supply. It is separate from the market pool, claimable rewards and the operations balance.
The reported capital
The FOLD team states that the common reserve totals $20,000 as of 11 Sep 2026. The app displays this as a team report. No asset breakdown or public custody address has been supplied for this statement.
The reported total does not derive from the browser portfolio. Local swaps, price scenarios and redemption actions cannot change it. No user claim or stock quantity is inferred from the dollar amount.
The separate calculation basket
| Asset | Sample quantity | Sample price | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| ETH | 60 | $2,500 | $150,000 |
| AAPL | 200 | $200 | $40,000 |
| MSFT | 125 | $400 | $50,000 |
| NVDA | 500 | $120 | $60,000 |
At reset the separate portfolio model is worth $300,000 at its sample quotes. These quantities are scenario inputs and do not describe the team-reported capital. The visitor starts with 5 ETH and 100 million FOLD in a separate sample wallet.
Backing per token
Gross basket share = FOLD surrendered / outstanding FOLD
Asset payout = floor(floor(asset balance × share) × 98%)The redemption rate is 98% of the gross share of each asset. The other 2%, plus rounding, stays in the reserve. The UI values the basket in dollars for comparison; redemption does not sell the stocks for ETH.
Backing is not a guaranteed market price. A market can trade above or below the value of a claim, and the reserve assets themselves can lose value.
Balances that stay separate
- LP capital belongs to pool shares and is withdrawn from the market, not the treasury.
- Funded rewards are allocated from their own ETH balance. Claims do not spend treasury principal.
- Operations receives its allocated revenue share. It does not gain a claim to withdraw the reserve.
- A stock revaluation changes NAV without creating cash for rewards.
The ETH contract reference
FoldTreasury holds native ETH only. It cannot trade stocks, lend, stake, buy tokens, pay an administrator or change its redemption fee. It has no upgrade mechanism. A live multi-asset reserve needs a separate implementation and review.
